Heflin Steel products from ESCO Corporation, have earned the reputation as the highest quality armor plate in North America.

MIL A 12560 - This specification covers wrought steel homogeneous armor plate for use in combat vehicles and for proof and acceptance testing of armor-defeating ammunition.

MIL A 46100 - This specification covers quenched and tempered, high-hardness wrought steel armor plate for lightweight armor applications.

Typical applications for MIL A 12560 and MIL A 46100 armor steel are:

BULLET-RESISTING MATERIALS

Our 1/4in and 5/16in ARMOR GARD® are listed by Underwriters Laboratories to meet their standards for Bullet Resisting Materials (UL 752). Test plates from each heat lot of material are subjected to stringent ballistic testing before being qualified as ARMOR GARD® and approved for sale by ESCO's Quality Assurance Department. Our ballistic test laboratory is available on a contract basis for small arms testing of materials and composites.
